Su The Scoop potete leggere un articolo dal titolo: "New black belts help implement Design for Six Sigma".

Questa è la versione tradotta in italiano con il traduttore automatico di Google.

The Chrysler Group LLC will continue to emphasize “Voice of the Customer” techniques in its product develop process with the graduation of two more groups of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) certified black belts.

Achieving Design for Six Sigma certified black belt status this year were: Mandeep Brar, John DiGasbarro, Mohammad Hijawi, Ken Holm, Walter Keough, Hsin Wei Lee, Pankaj Mahajan, Krzysztof Michalowski, Ron Peteuil, Mark Sakala, Lauren Thompson and Bo Zhang.

“Congratulations to these graduates who are part of a paradigm shift from reactive to proactive black belt training at Chrysler,” Scott Kunselman, Senior Vice President—Engineering, said. “They are a vital part of an infrastructure that continues to develop world-class quality products that our customers want to buy, enjoy driving and want to buy again.”

These engineers completed 140 hours of Design for Six Sigma and product-development-focused training; passed in-class exams; completed an “identify, define, develop, optimize, verify” project; and passed a closed-book final exam to earn their black belt certification.

The goal of the Design for Six Sigma process is to help engineers proactively develop robust designs so they can focus on up-front engineering, not downstream reactive problem solving. The Design for Six Sigma process begins by using Voice of the Customer techniques to develop vehicles and components that meet customers’ expectations. Surveys, observation and research of what consumers want from vehicles and components in terms of feel, operation and performance form the basis of the Voice of the Customer techniques.

Black belts provide a major contribution toward fulfilling the vision of Design for Six Sigma. They are individuals with both management and technical skills who have a passion to inspire and motivate others. They are the individuals who will focus on the “how” when it comes to implementing Design for Six Sigma strategies and completing projects that support its overall objectives. Their leadership and knowledge in this discipline are a valuable asset to both themselves and the company.

Significant team efforts have aligned Design for Six Sigma deliverables with Chrysler Development System (CDS) metrics, shifted emphasis from current design to developing new and better designs at the concept stage, engaged suppliers in Design for Six Sigma activities and fostered a consistent Voice of the Customer process. This year, the program continues to integrate Design for Six Sigma techniques throughout each step of the product development process.
